We believe mentorship is essential for professional success and a means to bridge the technical knowledge gap in the industry. By establishing a formalized model for online mentorship, we can raise awareness and cultivate the culture of mentorship.
MentorWith is a skill mentorship platform that aims to connect young professionals (mainly undergraduates, fresh graduates and those seeking to shift careers) to potential mentors in various fields of expertise and experience, helping them to navigate their career paths and work lives via one-to-one mentorship sessions (via voice/video conference calls).
The mentorship we aim to provide ranges from basic technical skills to cutting-edge fields, hot topics, and disruptive and new technologies in the industry led by subject matter experts.
This online platform is where users can easily search, find and meet:
- Seniors in their fields and get tailored career path advice
- Experts in the professional skills they need to build
- Consultants in the target domain to overcome in-job challenges they face
Working on this idea came after a long search to find mentors to guide us on our own potential career paths. We soon figured out that it wasn’t just a personal problem: many young graduates in the field have no access to mentoring in their workplace and others have no way of formally reaching potential mentor figures. Since we’ve recognized this as an underserved need, we’ve made it our mission to fill this knowledge gap and establish the link between them.
